Vampillia is featured on the Japan Nite compilation and will play the Japan Preview Day Show on Thursday, March 17 in Austin, Texas.

The beautiful union of the words “free” and “Japanese music” have once again been bestowed upon us. Hear Japan, a Japanese music MP3 store based in Yokohama, is once again offering up a free compilation previewing this year’s Japan Nite tour.

The free download nets you nine tracks, of which three are from artists on the Japan Nite tour (White White Sisters, ZUKANASISTERS and Lolita No.18) and the remaining six belong to artists playing the Japan Preview Day Show (Vampilia, Suck Piggy, Ydestroyde, Sonodaband and DJ TERAOKA AND THE REVOLUTION). Suck Piggy appears twice.

I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but there are a couple of bands missing from the compilation that would have been great to hear. Mo’Some Tonebender, who are headlining Japan Nite Tour are not included. The bluesy duo Oh Sunshine is also off the mix; a disappointment because the tracks posted to their MySpace page are beautiful.
