Help Japan! How to Spend Your Donation Dollars

Help Save Japan donation box

The Help Save Japan donation box located on the fourth floor of the Austin Convention Center.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or in one of the places in Japan currently experiencing rolling black outs, the chances are good that you’ve heard about the earthquakes, the tsunamis, fires and destruction currently plaguing Japan. Good news. You can help.

If you’re at SXSW right now, you can visit the Help Save Japan at SXSW relief stand on the fourth floor of the Austin Convention Center. According to the organization’s Facebook page, Help Save Japan is “a group of Japanese exhibitors at SXSW. We hope to use this event to raise awareness of the earthquake crisis in Japan, encourage donations to the Red Cross and other charitable organizations, and show our solidarity with friends and relatives back home.”

Also, there will be a fundraiser during the Japanese Mobile Leaders Forum. Keep checking the Help Save Japan Facebook page for more updates.

If you’re not at SXSW and want to help, please consider donating money to the Red Cross. You can donate $10 right now by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999. And if you don’t like the Red Cross for some reason, that’s fine. Find anyway to help you can.

An entire country thanks you.
