Peelander Red rocks out at Sail Inn in Tempe.

I did it again. I used subterfuge to convince the unwitting patsies at Phoenix New Times to let me review another Japanese band. That is to say, I asked if they’d be alright with me reviewing Peelander Z’s September 18 show at Tempe’s Sail Inn and they said yes.

This show was actually my second time seeing the Z. Last time was at Spider House in Austin Texas on the tail end of SXSW 2011. Seeing them a second time made me realize a few things about the band and their particular brand of musical antics.
