“Answer” – Sawao Yamanaka

Fans of The Pillows jonesing for a taste of new material got their fix today in the form of “Answer,” a new music video released in anticipation of frontman Yamanaka Sawao’s third solo album, Hakaiteki Innovation <破壊的イノベーション>. And what a fix. There’s not much stylistic deviation from The Pillows here despite being a solo release—and that’s a great thing.

Of course, this video is merely step one in the hype-building, marketing plan for Mr. Sawao’s new album. According to yamanakasawao.com, “Answer” is due out as a CD single on January 16, roughly a month before the full album drops on February 13.
