Nihongaku Heads to Ignite Phoenix

Ignite Phoenix 9 stage

The Ignite Phoenix 9 stage.

You’re standing on a stage with hundreds in the audience. You’ve got five minutes and twenty Power Point slides to tell the world about your particular passion. Maybe your want to espouse the gospel of brewing the perfect cup of break room coffee. Perhaps you’re most interested in sharing your life philosophies learned from mastering claw machines. Hell, maybe your a pre-teen with a penchant for three-dimensional printers. It doesn’t matter what your passion is. The important thing is that you’ve got a venue to shout it to the roof tops; and that venue (if you live in Arizona) is Ignite Phoenix.

Ignite Phoenix 10 promises eighteen new presentations ranging from “How learning to change my tire changed my life” to “From cubicle chick to paid musician in twelve months.” I’m absolutely stoked to see all these presentations and also to share that stage at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts with them. That’s right, the Ignite Phoenix overlords have seen fit to grant me five minutes of glory to share my passion (again). What’s my topic this time around? If you think for one second I’m not going to use my twenty slides to share my love for Japanese music, you’re reading the wrong blog.

Ignite Phoenix 10 is going down on May 20. Tickets are super cheap but sell out fast, so be sure to grab them quick when they go on-sale on the Ignite Phoenix site on April 30. If you make it to the show, be sure to come by and say konnichiwa during intermission and the after party. I want to hear about the Japanese music you’ve got on heavy rotation.

Full disclosure: Just in case you missed it in the above text, I did indeed present at Ignite Phoenix 5. I also wrote a cover story about Ignite Phoenix, founding member Jeff Moriarty and social media for Phoenix New Times.
