Perfume Dances Into Cars 2
Perfume performs “Polyrhythm” live.
Anime News Network (originally reported by Oricon) reports that “Polyrhythm” by Perfume, a trio of electro-pop queens known for synchronized dancing and tasty melodies, will be included Cars 2; the upcoming sequel to Disney/Pixar’s animated film Cars.
Apparently, Director John Lasseter chose the Perfume track for a party scene set in Japan after Pixar staff members recommended the group.
While this is undoubtedly big news for Perfume and their fans, it should be noted that this is not the first time the trio’s music. Perfume’s “Monochrome Effect” was used in an episode of American Dad and “Butterfly” was used to promote Mugen no Frontier: Super Robot Wars OG Saga; a video game for the Nintendo DS.
Of course one question remains: will vehicular versions of Perfume find their way into the animated feature as well?
