It’s not hard to understand why Do As Infinity works. Lead singer Tomiko Van is capable of sultry crooning and higher octave pleading within only a few beats. Ryo Owatari must be wanted for murder because every time he picks up a guitar, he kills it. They’ve built a pop rock comfort zone for themselves that they rarely step out of, but what they do there is so polished that it’s hard to mind.
