Red Bacteria Vacuum to Open For A Perfect Circle This Summer
When A Perfect Circle kicked off a tiny but well-received tour around the Southwest last year, it was their first string of public performances since going on hiatus six years earlier. The tour, in which the band played their three studio albums in their entirety over three consecutive nights in a handful of cities, seemed to be more about the band getting back in the swing of things than reliving the glory days. Maynard James Keenan, A Perfect Circle’s lead singer, said as much.
“Don’t get me wrong,” Keenan said at the tour kick-off in Tempe, AZ. “I’m glad to see you, but this is about us reconnecting with each other.”
A handful of shows and a few months later, it seems A Perfect Circle has got the ball rolling. They’re once again hitting the road for a Spring and Summer tour around the entire country; and this time they’ve got a trio of traveling partners mailed in from Japan.
Yesterday, a two sentence post on A Perfect Circle’s site announced that Red Bacteria Vacuum, an all-girl band that plays what they describe as “monster rock,” will accompany Billy Howerdel and crew on tour this summer. When last I saw Red Bacteria Vacuum, they had just face-melted me into a rock coma during SXSW’s Japan Nite showcase in 2010. From the looks of the video linked from A Perfect Circle’s announcement, nothing has changed.
You can catch both bands this summer on these dates.
